Illegal signage

Private signs may never be placed within public rights-of-ways unless approved by Orange County. Signs may be removed without warning by County workers and those placing such signs are subject to fines.

The Code Enforcement Division receives a lot of complaints about illegal signs along the roadways. Signs like those in the picture are illegal. Violators are subject to fines. Code Enforcement offices remove the signs.

The county does have a temporary weekend directional signage program. (See Temporary Weekend Signage)
