There are many ways to get involved in your community. Here are a few:
- Citizens Advisory Boards - Advisory boards are an integral part of the governmental process in Orange County and Central Florida. The volunteers who participate provide the Board of County Commissioners with valuable insights to issues affecting Orange County Citizens.
- Public Hearings & Community Meetings
- Watershed Action Volunteer Program - The Orange County WAV (Watershed Action Volunteer) program works in concert with the St. Johns River and South Florida Water Management Districts to educate citizens and monitor water bodies in this most unique of watersheds.
- Green PLACE Advisory Board- The Green PLACE Advisory Board is a team of dedicated individuals working together to identify environmentally sensitive lands that are the most critically in need of protection through the Orange County Green PLACE Program.
- Environmental Protection Commission- The Environmental Protection Commission (EPC) is a dedicated group of volunteers who give their time to advise the County Environmental Protection Division in its environmental policy decisions, assist in the drafting of ordinances, and to hear appeals of staff decisions.
