Orange County continues to make improvements in services and its responsiveness to citizen concerns. The county created the Government Information Office to provide a simple and convenient way for citizens to access the services that Orange County provides. It will accomplish this by facilitating communication, information and effective action. The Government Information Office receives and responds to citizen inquiries regarding a broad array of county services.
Government "Info" is a telephone and web-based service that provides timely information, referrals and problem solving. It is a one-stop information and assistance office that answers questions, coordinates complaints, handles designated requests for services and solves problems related to Orange County Government. This office is located in the newly renovated Government Service Center (GSC). The center is designed to receive calls for Animal Services, Code Enforcement and Orange County information. Citizens may call the new telephone number of 407-836-3111 to reach the Government Information Office. The numbers for Animal Services and Code Enforcement will change at a later date, and we'll provide an announcement at that time.
GSC's conceptual design incorporates four main goals: efficiency, effectiveness, reduced call volume associated with multi-departmental contacts, and improved service. It provides an opportunity for citizens to reach their government at any time, from anywhere, and by optional methods. The Service Center is strategically positioned to deliver services correctly, timely, and with high-quality at a reasonable cost. Future participation with other jurisdictions will reduce service duplications, and redundant operating costs of multi-centers (both within Orange County and between the county, cities, and other entities. As the Government Service Center continues to grow, it will have a primary focus to concentrate on and stand behind the County's customer service goals of improvements in accessibility, speed and accuracy in resolving citizen's requests, as well as performance tracking and reporting of those same requests. While attaining these goals, the Service Center additionally seeks to:
- Alleviate the burden on the County's 9-1-1 emergency response resources
- Offload calls to cost effective self-service options such as Interactive Voice Response (IVR), e-mail and web access
- Implement system components that will be cost-effective to install, integrate, use, and maintain.
Due to the increasing Spanish-speaking population in Orange County, GSC will normally schedule staff fluent in Spanish to receive and respond to requests in Spanish. The current hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.(Monday-Saturday), 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.(Sunday); except legal holidays.
Please make note that our telephone number has changed from "5500" to 407-836-3111. |
